Meet Wynema Ware
Tell us about your current role with Miller Tanner Associates (MTA)? What are your primary responsibilities?
My role is senior technology specialist. My major responsibility is keeping our data safe. I am currently backup administrator for servers, help desk support, antivirus administration as well as participating in and managing projects. I am also globally responsible for remote software installation and patching for laptops.
How long have you been with MTA? I have been privileged to work with MTA for 10 years.
What did you do before joining MTA?
Before coming to MTA, I worked with the Tennessee State Government for 22 years. I began working in administration for 13 years and then moved to information technology (IT) as a systems administrator for 9 years.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I truly enjoy working with a tremendous group of talented people. The MTA staff is a diverse group of people with various interests and personalities, but across the board we all have one goal. The goal to serve our clients whether internal or external to the best of our ability.
Where do you live and what do you love most about your state/city? Any must-see tourist attractions?
I live just outside Nashville, Tennessee. Tennessee is a versatile state. If one loves music, a stop in Memphis is required to see our rock and roll roots and visit Graceland. The “March of the Ducks” at the Peabody Hotel is also fun.
Of course, Nashville is my favorite. The list of places to see and things to do in “Music City” is endless. The newly-built Country Music Hall of Fame celebrates our country music heroes and has exhibits for many genres of music. The old Ryman Auditorium and the Parthenon should not be missed. For music lovers, the Ryman, known fondly as the “Mother Church” is where it all began. The Parthenon is the only one of its kind as a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Greece.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy being a volunteer. Being a part of something that helps others is rewarding and fun. I also spend a lot of time with my three adolescent grandchildren which is fun and exhausting. To recover from this fun, I love to travel, both near and far. Going to concerts in smaller venues is one of my favorites. I was born and raised in “Music City” so music has always been a huge part of my life.
What makes Miller Tanner stand out as meeting planning company?
At the risk of sounding redundant, the level of service we give our clients is what sets Miller Tanner apart. Our staff is willing to go to great lengths and perform the seemingly impossible to give our clients the very best event experience possible while making it appear effortless. We truly cherish our clients and we cherish each other. Marnie Battistini, our CEO is responsible for this environment. Her leadership inspires us all.
What are some of your favorite tech trends?
My favorite trends are portability and virtuality. Technology advances progress daily allowing people to work and play anywhere. Virtuality allows us to travel the globe without leaving home. This technology brings the world to people who are unable to travel to all the places they might want to go.
